Our Activities
Phiros brings together activities developed over the past decade, with more than eight years of experience in mining and trading and over five years in agriculture. These foundations have been consolidated into an integrated group structure. Today, our portfolio also includes biotechnology and tourism, extending the impact of our work across Europe and Africa.
By building value chains that connect these sectors, Phiros creates synergies and delivers measurable impact adapted to each territory.
Mining
For more than eight years, Phiros has been developing mining projects in Tanzania, focusing on metals essential to industrial growth and the energy transition. Our portfolio includes gold, copper, cobalt, manganese, and nickel, explored with modern methods and extracted through efficient processes.
Our approach creates value chains that extend from exploration to local processing and responsible commercialization, in line with international standards. Workforce training, safety, and community inclusion remain central to every project.
By combining proven technologies with sustainable practices, Phiros continues to expand its mining portfolio and contribute to global demand for strategic resources.
Entity: Huudi – Phiros’ mining entity, leading exploration and responsible operations in Tanzania.
Agriculture & Livestock
Since establishing our first farms in southern Tanzania more than five years ago, Phiros has built agriculture into one of its fastest-growing activities.
Today we manage over 8,000 hectares producing rice, cereals, and fruit, complemented by integrated livestock farming. Our model blends scale with sustainability: modern irrigation, crop rotation, and soil regeneration techniques secure long-term productivity, while livestock integration enhances land use and fertilization cycles.
As this activity expands, Phiros strengthens food security, supports local markets, and develops resilient farming systems adapted to African climates.
Entity: Kalao – Agricultural entity overseeing large-scale farms and integrated livestock systems in Tanzania.
Trading & Distribution
With more than eight years of experience in commodities trading, Phiros acts as a bridge between producers and markets across Europe and Africa. We supply fertilizers, agricultural inputs, and key resources that sustain both agriculture and industry.
To consolidate this role, Phiros pursues a long-term strategy of acquiring upstream and downstream assets, reinforcing the stability of our supply chains and the quality of service to partners.
Our partnership with Adriatica Spa, a renowned Italian fertilizer producer, further strengthens this activity by bringing advanced expertise and product lines to regional markets.
Entity: Maghreb Adriatica – A joint venture where Phiros holds 80% of Adriatica Spa’s Moroccan subsidiary, expanding fertilizer and input distribution in Africa.
Insect Proteins & Biotechnology
Biotechnology offers transformative solutions for sustainable food systems. Phiros applies cutting-edge processes to convert agricultural by-products into high-value outputs such as insect proteins, oils, and organic fertilizers.
Through the production of black soldier fly (BSF) larvae, we contribute to circular farming models that reduce waste and provide alternative sources of animal nutrition. These products strengthen local agriculture by replacing costly imports and ensuring a steady supply of sustainable protein.
This activity also supports broader environmental goals, from reducing pressure on traditional feed resources to promoting regenerative farming practices.
Entity: BSF Tanzania – Operates under Kalao to produce insect-based proteins and organic fertilizers through circular farming models.

Tourism
Tourism represents a strategic sector where Phiros creates value by connecting international travelers with authentic cultural and natural experiences in Tanzania. Our projects are designed to highlight the country’s coastal and inland heritage while creating direct benefits for local communities.
By developing bespoke hospitality and immersive experiences, we respond to the growing demand for sustainable tourism that respects natural ecosystems and cultural diversity. Activities are structured to work with local operators and stakeholders, ensuring that tourism revenues circulate within the regional economy. In doing so, Phiros positions itself as a promoter of responsible tourism in Africa, offering unique experiences while fostering inclusive growth.
